As a Lynn employee, you will help us build a better world with our students. Lynn is currently accepting applications for the part time position of Prevention Educator.

This part time position focuses on providing guidance and support to the Peer Education internship program and creating programming that supports prevention initiatives. Through direct interaction with student interns, this employee will ensure high quality interactions and programs are facilitated and assessed for effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, education and support to student interns as they received certification as peer educators via a designed program.
  • Design, deliver, schedule and coordinate prevention-oriented programming in formal and informal settings.
  • Compile data and prepare reports related to prevention programming efforts.
  • Maintain records and documentation on student intern performance and fulfillment of positon requirements.
  • Create prevention programs for relevant issues facing college students, including mental wellbeing, depression, suicide, anxiety, etc.
  • Consistently communicate with supervisor related to program and performance.
  • Have the ability to work flexible hours depending on program needs.
  • Have the ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate should maintain high energy with a strong commitment to student success, enthusiasm and desire to work with students.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university and relevant experience is required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Knowledge and ability to use SPSS software.
  • Strong writing and editing skills as well as understanding the importance of composing descriptive reports.
  • Strong intrapersonal communications skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to be creative and forward thinking as to anticipate the needs of those with whom this role interacts.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a commitment to high quality and positive results.
  • Experience directly working in a college or university setting and/or with traditionally college-aged students.
  • Experience with public speaking/presentation stongly preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
