This individual is primarily responsible for the intentional programming efforts focused on the social, educational, cultural, and overall development of our students.  Efforts will support the mission of the University and the goals of the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Student Involvement.  This individual will work closely with students to provide quality programming and intentional developmental opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This individual is primarily responsible for the intentional programming efforts focused on the social, educational, cultural, and overall development of our students.  Efforts will support the mission of the University and the goals of the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Student Involvement.  This individual will work closely with students to provide quality programming and intentional developmental opportunities.

  • Logistical oversight for programs offered by the Center for Student Involvement and the Student Activities Board, including setting up, removing, and storing all equipment.
  • Negotiation and review of all business contracts related to the programs.
  • Budget management.
  • Serves as the primary professional advisor for the Student Activities Board to plan and execute well-balanced student programming. 
  • Supervises student employees that assist with programming. By adhering to an individualized approach to student development, this role will facilitate trainings for all of those students. 
  • Follow-through with all responsibilities and communications in a timely manner.
  • Keep accurate record of events, programs, budgets, and evaluations.
  • Complete the appropriate assessment of programs and functions.
  • Develop appropriate, professional relationships with students and colleagues (internal and external).
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the University and serve as a resource for the campus community.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students.
  • Embrace an "open door" approach to communicating with students to assist with ideas, issues, and concerns relating to student affairs, individual development, and programs/services.
  • Assist with Campus Wide Programming efforts as needed, as well as major divisional and institutional initiatives.
  • Assist in the management of physical facilities through the coordination of activities, maintaining equipment, enforcing University policy and reporting issues to the appropriate department.
  • Serve on University committees and task forces.
  • Administer all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • This position requires evenings and weekends hours to complete position requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in Higher Education or equivalent.
  • Prior professional experience on a college campus related to programming and contracts.
  • A firm understanding and knowledge of student development theory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion for developing students in the higher education setting.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict, manage crisis and emergencies as well as an ability to foster a cooperative environment.
  • Ability to promote collaboration, teamwork, and involve stakeholders in the decision-making process.

  • Must have a valid and clear Driver's License and be permitted to drive in the state of Florida.
