Our team needs a talented, experienced writer to craft and edit content for our digital platforms and print publications. This role generates content that supports the university's strategic plan initiatives (visit lynn.edu/strategy). The ideal candidate is first and foremost a writer with the flexibility to produce a variety of content, including news articles, short and long feature content, web content and more. The successful applicant will be a highly productive, technology-savvy team player. Applicant must be a fast learner, deadline-driven and able to balance multiple projects at once. Preference for candidates with marketing and communication writing experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on marketing objectives that help accomplish Lynn's strategic plan.
  • Produce, edit and proofread content that follows university brand guidelines, university editorial style and Associated Press (AP) Style.
  • Communicate value propositions and drive awareness, engagement and action across internal- and external-facing communications.
  • Create and refresh content for Lynn's magazines and website, as well as advertisements, brochures, email messages, postcards, videos, etc.
  • Conduct interviews.
  • Serve as a quality assurance writing and fact-checking technician.
  • Maintain a library of interview/reference materials.
  • Establish relationships across campus; follow marketing processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; minimum 5 years professional experience or equivalent.
  • Must submit a portfolio of writing samples, including long-form pieces, and at least three references.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expert writing, reporting, interviewing and editing skills
  • Solid conceptual thinking skills
  • Mastery of Associated Press (AP) style
  • Proficiency in web content and project management systems, email marketing tools and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Deadline- and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in the on-campus office, in an open floor plan environment
