Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Film and Television.

The successful candidate will have academic credentials and/or professional experience in all phases of film and video production, including script writing and post-production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as undergraduate and graduate faculty in the College of Communication and Design, teaching an eight-course load per academic year (twenty-four academic credits).
  • Depending on the successful candidate's area of expertise, courses may include: Film Production, Documentary Production, Advanced Film and Video Production, Film and Video Editing, Videography, Film and Video Practicum and Digital Storytelling.
  • This faculty member is expected to work with colleagues in the college's digital media, animation and game art sequences to identify and capitalize on opportunities for collaboration.
  • Advise and mentor students in the major and provide academic and professional advice to students.
  • Perform traditional faculty duties in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service to the profession and institution.
  • Pursue an active research/creative project agenda.

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.F.A. in film and video production or Ph.D. in film with a minimum of five years of professional film production experience.
  • Significant industry experience in film and video production preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with higher education teaching experience.
  • Familiarity, comfort, and engagement with social and mobile media platforms and a commitment to using new and evolving teaching technologies.
  • Active participation in a professional association tied to area of instruction desirable.
