Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Academic Coach. The role of the Academic Coach is to provide academic coaching to students diagnosed with AD/HD, and/or learning differences, and or Autism Spectrum disorders revolving around executive functioning issues. They will assist students in various areas within executive functioning that inhibit their ability to reach their learning potential and display their true cognitive abilities. They will also facilitate independent learning and support students in navigating their college experience and maintain ADA compliance. They will coach students through individual meetings, check weekly class attendance and communicate with instructors, tutors, and parents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read psychoeducational files and meet with students to provide accommodations in compliance with ADA
  • Advise and register incoming students during the Admitted Students Experience and prior to their first semester of college
  • Present to and meet with prospective students and families in collaboration with the office of admission to educate and recruit students
  • Organize program for orientation and meet with new students and parents
  • Assist with Transitions Conference hosted by the Institute for Achievement and Learning
  • Participate in Faculty Fellows and Faculty Development training each semester
  • Assist with reading incoming psychoeducational evaluation files as needed for Admission.
  • Participate on university committees as neede
  • Work with multiple technology tools and teach students to utilize the iPad mini as an educational resource
  • Represent the Institute at Admission Open Houses which occur on Weekends 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in the area of Psychology or Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
  • Experience coaching/advising University students with Learning Disabilities, ADHD, executive function disorders, and Autism Spectrum disorders
  • International Coach Federation (ICF) or Board Certified Coach (BCC) preferred
  • Additional qualifications that could be helpful - knowledge and skills in Counseling, Higher education, Learning differences
