Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Dean of Students. The Assistant Dean of Students works closely with the Student Affairs leadership team and the department directors within student affairs to lead key divisional initiatives. In addition to special project assignments, which serve as a primary focus, on-going responsibilities include: serving as a member of the Division of Student Affairs leadership team; serving on University committees and work groups as assigned; developing and leading evaluation and assessment reviews within Student Affairs; assisting with the creation of the Division's branded resources; and coordinating data reports. Experience with assessment, large scale projects, and technology are necessary to fulfill the requirements of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of various key projects supporting the Division's mission and vision leading to overall student success and retention.
  • Serve as a member of the Division of Student Affairs Leadership Team.
  • Assist with the development of all divisional marketing needs.
  • Assist with the development, planning and execution of major divisional initiatives and programs.
  • Serve on divisional and institutional committees as assigned.
  • Maintain professional conduct and ethical behavior at all times.
  • Support and implement the divisional and University mission and strategic plan.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans to achieve student development and support retention goals in relation to departmental services, objectives and goals.
  • Support and advocate for the needs and interests of students.
  • Conduct ongoing departmental assessments of services and programs.
  • Complete annual reports for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as a first-responder during campus emergencies, including hurricane response.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Higher Education or equivalent required (Doctorate preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years full-time professional experience within Student Affairs/Higher Education required.
  • Experience with assessment, large scale projects, and technology are necessary to fulfill the requirements of this position.
  • Some evening and weekend hours required.
  • Candidates should maintain high energy with a strong commitment to student success, enthusiasm and desire to work with students.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and a commitment to high quality results.
  • Knowledge of student development theory.
  • A strong understanding and awareness of assessment principles and tools.
