Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Staff Accountant. The Senior Staff Accountant will support the Director of Accounting and Vice President of Business and Finance. This person will maintain and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions using GAAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Accounting with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department
  • Perform general account analysis and reconciliations including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and investment earnings
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities and net assets, and prepare supporting work papers
  • Determines the proper handling of financial transactions, prepares journal entries, and approves transactions within designated limits
  • Monitors compliance with GAAP and university policies and procedures
  • Coordinates annual financial audit, 990 filings and the reporting as needed
  • Manages all aspects of the general ledger and prepares reconciliations, month-end general ledger close-out, provides necessary financial analysis
  • Prepares internal and external financial statements
  • Responsible for cash management and bank reconciliations
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and policies and procedures impacting the Finance Department 

Minimum Qualifications

  • University Degree is required - C.P.A. or Master's Degree in Accounting is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years relevant accounting experience
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Good organizational skills
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of accounting software, database software, internet software, and the core MS Office Products with more advanced skills in Excel
