The Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn College of Communication and Design is accepting applications for the full-time position of Television Director & Digital Technology Specialist. The successful candidate will have responsibilities in two areas: (1) Overseeing and implementing live streamed broadcasts on the Lynn Sports Network (LSN) and supporting pre-production, production and post-production of LSN television content, as well as various video productions and other projects; and (2) Serve as digital technology specialist in the college. The position reports to the dean of the College of Communication and Design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as director and technical director (TD/video switcher) for multi-camera Lynn Sports Network and other productions;
  • Available for evening and weekend work, since many Lynn Sports Network games are played late afternoons and evenings, as well as Saturdays and Sundays;
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Athletics department for content creation and production planning;
  • Communicate and coordinate with other units on campus and with outside clients for production planning and implementation;
  • Execute equipment setup and breakdown for each production;
  • Oversee student interns/workers for athletic broadcasts;
  • Serve as a video and audio editor using Adobe Premier and After Effects software;
  • Coordinate digital technology projects;
  • Assist faculty in identifying and resolving digital technology issues;
  • Other assigned video-related duties;
  • May teach one or two undergraduate courses per year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree (M.F.A., preferred) in television, film, media, communication or related area, preferably with 2+ years of television/video, digital technology and video editing experience;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong collaborator with an ability to partner and influence;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on various levels with different and converging timelines;
  • Creative and conceptual thinker able to develop innovative solutions to problems;
  • Strong ability to work with various teams, personalities and disciplines around a common vision;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong and flexible personality, to build relationships;
  • Eligible for adjunct faculty status in the college.
